Framing Foreman Asst (Barrhaven)
LOCATION: Ottawa
OVERALL PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE
The Framing Foreman Assistant is responsible for supporting the Framing Foreman by inspecting exterior finishes of residential construction units and ensures the quality of workmanship is compliant.
A vehicle and valid driver’s licence is required for this position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Inspects exterior (air leakage and air barriers) of all residential units under construction and ensures compliance with Minto’s Specifications, EBG standards, Ontario Building Code and all Regulatory requirements;
· Conducts preliminary tests for air leakage in all residential units under construction to ensure measurements meet EBG standards and Energy Star specifications (i.e Fan Tests);
· Conducts inspections and checks on residential construction units in order to monitor the processes and methods of installation of air barrier (i.e. Tyvek/Typar);
· Investigates deficiencies and makes minor repairs as required;
· Reports major deficiencies to Framing Foreman as required;
· Other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by management
QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Requirements:
· A High School Diploma is required. A College Diploma is an asset.
Prior Related Experience:
· A minimum of one (1) year of relevant residential construction work experience.
Skills:
· Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Outlook
· Knowledge of the construction industry
· Ability to read blueprints is an asset
· Communication skills (listening, verbal and written)
· Professionalism
· Attention to detail
